Revolutionary Decisions and Book Signing Event for the Falmouth Genealogical Society and the Falmouth Public Library

February 11 @ 10:30 AM - 12:00 PM

FREE

This Event is part of the Falmouth Genealogical Society Meeting. It will be held at the Falmouth Public Library in the Hermann Foundation Meeting Room.

Boston-born William Eustis was intimately involved in the strategy and planning to bring liberty to the new American republic. His adventures as a young apprentice to Dr. Joseph Warren in the 1770s took him from the genteel social rounds of Boston society to the bloody siege lines at Bunker Hill in 1776. Swept up in the War, Eustis soon found himself treating the wounded and sick in New York with General George Washington. He was in the room when Benedict Arnold’s treachery was revealed. He later reached the height political power in Massachusetts, becoming governor in 1823. Eustis is little known today, but he knew everyone in his day and everyone knew him. Tamsen George’s new biography sheds new light on the social and political trials of a man, a nation, and on the rich rewards of deep and loyal friendships.

Copies of Allegiance will be on sale at the event.

Tamsen will be signing books after the talk.
